F-Design hostel was the pioneer in the Design concept in Salvador, the capital of the state of Bahia, in the northeast of Brazil. The enterprise, led by the famous Brazilian actor Luiz Fernando Guimarães, is the newest Hostelling International member in the country. With the capacity to host 62 guests, the hostel has an innovative proposal, uniting comfort and exclusivity to the relaxed atmosphere of a hostel. Hostelling International: "We wanted to present a new idea to the hostel marketing in Brazil, and joining Hostelling International was essential«.
Built on a 685 m² square meter area, F-Design has nine rooms, each with a different theme. There's the Flower Power room, design for the female public, where guests find a decor that refers to the 60's. The DJ room has colored lights and an individual MP3 player in each bed with set lists prepared by renowned Brazilian electronic music DJs. There's also the Tropical Forest room, the Backstage room, that brings the atmosphere of the movies behind the scenes, the Street room, with an urban theme, the Ocean room, that takes guests to the bottom of the ocean, the Fly room, dedicated to the free spirit travelers, and the Passport room, dedicated to luxury and glamour. All rooms are air conditioned and for those who want more privacy, there are four private suites: Kalahari, Tokyo, Old Bahia and Lakshimi.
F-Design also has 10 common areas: a small movie theater, a living room for games and reading, a pool, a terrace, a belvedere with a beach view, three bars, a gourmet area and the famous Urubu Club. "Our goal was to have a sophisticated design style, but without loosing the fun atmosphere and the social spirit of the hostels" says Adriano.
