Silver award for Hostel Brežice

Silver award and hoping to acquire the quality sign from the »Council of Europe«.

The Tourist association of Slovenia has carried out also this year a project with a parallel competition: »My land-a beautiful and hospitable«, which was held under the honorary patronage of the President of SLOVENIA Danilo Türk. The contest was held at the national level, where various tourist and health resorts, cities of different sizes, towns, camps and of course youth hostels, where also our  MC hostel Brezice ranks, were competing against each other.

MC hostel Brezice was awarded with a silver recognition in the category of youth hostels already for the second time in a rowe. We are very happy with the 2nd price but with some additional improvements to service and completing the offer we will try next year to climb to the very top and get the first price. Motivated we aim to become the best hostel, which brings our town Brežice an even greater recognition and increased flow of tourists, who find along with the beautiful places also a lot of hospitality.

Already in the year 2010 youth canter Brežice and with this also unit MC Hostel Brežice  has set a goal to gain quality label for youth centres from Council of Europe and with this become equivalent to European youth centres in Strasbourg and in Budapest . During this year we received confirmation, that we meet criteria for the acquisition of mentioned sign and now  we are in full preparation for welcoming  representatives of the Council of Europe who will honour us with their presence in the middle in October.

As a European youth centre we would provide youth organizations and nets a place and enjoyable environment to perform an innovative international educational projects, that would help increase information exchange as obtaining new knowledge. We would ensure informal education for the young people  and encourage and support them to take an active part in the field of social change. Also we would promote activities in fields important to youth policy and of course, follow fundamental values and standards that Council of Europe represents.
