This time we’d like to present
6 hostels which offer accommodation for groups. In the oldest town in Slovenia – Ptuj – the
hostel Poetovio awaits you. Apart from a bed, they’ll also offer you their home made cuisine. In beautiful Gorenjska, which is especially tempting in autumn, there are two hostels in the embrace of the mountains awaiting your visit.
Hostel Bledec, only 5 minutes’ walk from the Lake Bled – Slovenian tourist pearl and the
hostel pod Voglom, that offers you many sporting and adrenalin activities.
Despite colder days we’d also like to invite you to the Slovenian coast, which is simply magical. There you’ll find the
hostel Debeli Rtič, where you can chose between the swimming in the half Olympic pool and the children’s pool with heated sea water – or spoil yourself in the massage whirlpools. And there are five various types of saunas you can spoil yourself: Finish, Turkish, bio, infra-red and kneipp bath. Also there are many, many more offers.
And since visiting Slovenia usually includes a stop at the capital – Ljubljana – which is more than beautiful. We invite you to the
hostel Tresor, where your group can get the comfort of a hostel in the very centre of the city. And to make sure the way from Ljubljana to the sea would not be too boring, suggest a stopover at Postojna. There you can visit the famous Postojnska jama, the castle Predjamski grad and sleep over at the renovated
hostel Proteus, where they’ll tend to your every need.

1. Youth Hostel Poetovio
Hostel Poetovio is in the highschool dormitory in the vicinity of the centre of the oldest town in Slovenia – Ptuj. It has its own bus parking. It’s only about a kilometre away from the bus and rail station. There are 60 beds altogether in two and three bedded rooms with common toilets (2 toilets, 2 showers and 4 washbasins per 4-6 rooms). They all have free internet access. There is also a kitchenette, living room, trim cabinet, table tennis and table soccer. The kitchen has a large dining room which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner every working day – for groups also during weekends.
2. Youth Hostel Tresor
On the busiest street of Ljubljana a new hostel opened up in the former bank. It’s a unique and modern hostel envisioned to offer maximum comfort for the guests. Experience sleeping in what used to be a conference room, having breakfast in a real swimming bank vault and fraternise in the atrium with a glass roof. All the guests also get to use free WiFi and all the rooms have air conditioning.
Hostel Tresor has 28 rooms with 105 beds and offers a TV room for guests, making it appropriate for groups also.
3. Youth Hostel Debeli Rtič
Boarding is possible in 43 nice rooms with bathrooms (shower, toilet, hairdryer). Most rooms have balconies with a view of the sea or the vineyards. There are also group rooms (96 rooms with 4, 12, 14, 15 beds) that share bathrooms, kitchenette and a common room with a TV and a lot of space for socializing. The
Hostel Debeli rtič also has access for wheelchairs. You don’t need to worry about linen or tower, for rooms already include them. Guests can also use the laundry with a drier.
4. Youth Hostel Pod Voglom
Hostel Pod Voglom is situated at one of the most beautiful locations in Slovenia – in the middle of the Triglav National Park by the lake Bohinj. As such it is ideal for all the outdoor fans, who like to spend active holidays in contact with nature. It offers 3 kinds of accommodation (rooms with private bathroom, shared bathroom or dormitory rooms). Hostel has 129 beds. In the yard of the hostel is located Pac sports outdoor centre and the high ropes course. You can also rent boats, canoes and kayaks or mountain bikes. An interesting challenge for those who want more adrenaline is participating in rafting or canyoning or experiencing a paragliding trip with a tandem above the Bohinj lake. Meanwhile, there is a garden near the hostel with the playground for children and it is also perfect for relaxing and reading a book in the shadow of the trees.
5. Youth Hostel Bledec
Hostel Bledec is a completely renovated building, which continues the 80 year old tradition of youth tourism on Bled. It is in a quiet part of the town, only a five minutes’ walk from the lake. Right next to it is also a walking path, leading up to the castle, which can be reached in about 10 minutes. There are 12 rooms with 55 beds altogether. Most rooms have three or four, but some also have five beds. They are all equipped with showers, toilets and a TV; the restaurant, pub, a joint room with an internet corner and parking space.
6. Youth Hostlov Proteus
Hostel Proteus is located in the centre of Postojna. Near the hostel park there is a town sports park with a stadium and playgrounds for tennis, basketball, handball, football, an athletic track and children`s playground. Hostel Proteus has 120 beds. Rooms are three and four bedded with common sanitary facilities to share. In July and August there are additional 100 beds. Guests can also be offered breakfast if they wish. From Monday to Friday it is always possible to order full board (by prior arrangement also at weekends). In the hall of hostel there is free internet access and guests can also use a small kitchen for making hot drinks and meals.
