New Youth Hostel opens in Fiesch Apr 29, 2011

The new Youth Hostel will be officially opened in the “Sport- und Feriencenter Fiesch” on 30 April 2011. The former military hospital in Fiesch has been converted into a modern Youth Hostel containing a total of 92 beds.

The Fiesch Holiday Village Cooperative purchased the former military hospital in Fiesch together with the Canton of Valais. The “Sport- und Feriencenter Fiesch” converted the unlisted section into a Youth Hostel. The underground section of the military hospital is used by the Canton as an archive.

Accommodation in the new Youth Hostel from CHF 30.00
The new Fiesch Youth Hostel contains a total of 26 rooms on two floors: 12 four-bed rooms (4 of which with shower/WC), 10 wheelchair-accessible two-bed rooms (8 with shower/WC) and 4 six-bed rooms (2 with shower/WC). An overnight stay in the Youth Hostel with a breakfast buffet costs between CHF 30.00 and CHF 52.00 depending on the room category. Lunch and dinner each cost CHF 16.00 extra.

Youth Hostel guests benefit from the wide range of facilities at the “Sport- und Feriencenter Fiesch”
For guests at Fiesch Youth Hostel, use of the different facilities in the Fiesch Holiday Village is included in the price of their stay: indoor swimming pool, minigolf, disc golf and garden games. A wide range of sports are also available on payment of a supplementary charge: skittle alley, sports hall, squash, tennis and badminton courts, fitness room, sauna, solarium, climbing wall, skating rink and different outdoor areas. Sports equipment and other equipment can also be hired at a reasonable price.

Inexpensive alternative for families and couples too
The Youth Hostel not only extends a warm welcome to young people and school classes. Families, couples and sports groups appreciate Youth Hostels as an inexpensive alternative to hotels.
