For lovers of more serious literature, visiting Helsingor and its Kronborg Castle, known as Elsinore in Shakespeare’s legendary Hamlet, is a must. The Danes are proud of their history, and this is something you can experience in Horsens, where a medieval festival is held each year, and in Vejle, where you can feel the Viking spirit. In the north lies Skagen with its yellow houses and great museums. Go to the coast, where you’ll find a long stretch of sand dunes where you’ll surely find some inspiration.
